If you are reading this post then you must have brought a puppy as a new member to your family and want to train it in the best possible way. Don’t worry if you haven’t brought a new dog and just want to house train your old doggy. House training isn’t a tough job if you are really committed towards it. Here, in this article, you will find useful tips to train your dog at your home. Dogs are very loyal animals and are mostly obedient too. However, it is important for you to house train your dog before it gets out of your hand.
Dog training should be started as soon as you own a dog or puppy, the younger the dog is, the easier to train. What you should understand is, dogs don’t think as humans do.They cant interpret human words. However, dogs are capable of remembering human instructions and associating them with something. Dogs mostly create positive associations with positive behaviors and negative associations with negative behaviors.
So, it is important to imply this fact in your dog training. You will have to train your dog to associate you commands with actions in a positive way. You may be wondering what the positive reinforcing factors are. They are encouragement, appraisal, affectionate touching and loving, and also treat and chew toys as rewards. However, you should not always be soft to your dog. If your dog misbehaves then you must punish it as well. But don’t think of beating the dog. You shouldn’t beat or cause any physical harm to your dog; doing so will only make him more aggressive. If your dog misbehaves, then you should simply say “No!” in a stern voice. This way they will understand that such a behavior isn’t accepted.
If you are potty training your dog then you should be very consistent and stick to your training schedule. You should have a schedule of when to take them out, when to give them food and water and other such activities. You should be willing to take them out every morning for a considerable amount of time (at least 20 to 30 minutes each day).
When house training a dog, you must be patient. Dogs are not humans to learn in a matter of days. How quick and how well dogs learn depends upon the instructor and his dedication. You must be very consistent as well as affectionate towards them if you want to house train your dog.
