- Start training your dog as early as possible. At an early age, dogs tend to learn quicker and so dog potty training is easier for you.
- Take your doggy outside- Take your dog outside and stay with him until he’s done or a long time has passed with no results. During the following schedule, you can take your dog or puppy outside:
- As soon as he wakes up
- After his breakfast
- After his lunch
- After his naps
- After taking him out of his crate
- After his dinner
- After any snacks of considerable size
- You should only feed him food or give him water when you can take him outside right away. However in hot or dry climate, you should let your puppies or dogs have access to fresh water. During the course of training, you will have to limit the use of water using your judgment in order to avoid dehydration.
- When the puppy pees or defecates where you wouldn’t want him to do. Speak to him in a stern voice, however don’t shout at him or punish or beat him.
- As you train your puppy, look out for behavioral signs of your dogs. As you recognize the behavioral signs of the dogs that indicate their excreting time, take them outside or the defecating area.
- When your dog pees outside the house, praise him and give him rewards. This will teach him that such a habit is an accepted behavior by the master and so he will follow it.
- When you are in home, keep your dog with you as much as you can. You may use a leash too one he accepts it.
