If you are one of those many people planning to start your dog training all by yourself then here are some really good advices to start your training with. Dog training requires a considerable amount of effort, dedication and patience. Dogs are intelligent as well as willing to learn, however they cannot be fully trained over a night. Dog training does require significant dedication to accomplish. Here are some great dog training advice.

  • This is an important point that I’ve been telling again and again. It is always easy to train a puppy than a grown-up dog. So to get the best results in dog training, start training your dog as early as possible.
  • Never overdo your training. Like humans, even dogs get tired and bored by continuous training. So keep your dog training classes short-length but consistent. This will prevent him from getting bored and maintain his enthusiasm in the training.
  • Everyone loves rewards and treats and so do the dogs. If your dog learns your commands and executes them well then you should treat and rewards him. This will motivate him to learn your commands more willingly. Also this will develop a amicable relationship between you and your dog and urge him to always follow your instructions.
  • Never punish or beat your dog. Sometimes you might be frustrated of teaching him again and again or trying to get his attention during training. However, this shouldn’t persuade you to scold, punish or beat him. If he doesn’t obey you, you can speak to him in a stern voice saying “No!” but never try to scold or beat him. This will put negative feeling into your dog and can make him aggressive.
  • Try to spend significant amount of time with your dog and develop a very good relationship of love. If your dog becomes your best friend then he shall be ready to be trained as well as obey all your commands you teach him.
