Training a Chihuahua puppy
You should have patience when training a Chihuahua. Chihuahuas do not tend to train well if you shout at them. If you show them anger then they tend to show offensiveness or indifference towards you. So it is important to use positive support to train them like rewarding them, hugging or cuddling them.
Training a Chihuahua puppy
- You should maintain a cordial relationship with your Chihuahua puppies and maintain a comfort level with him. If you are comfortable with your puppy then the training will be easier.
- As soon as you adopt a new puppy, introduce him to the other members of your family and friends. Doing so will help him socialize with other people and he will develop less fear and non-aggressiveness towards others. Furthermore, he will get adapted to new situations easily.
- You should invite your friends to meet your puppy. You can also carry your puppy to crowded places such as get-togethers or market, or you can also take him for a short drive. Doing so will make your puppy pleasant and help him socialize.
- Every time your puppy obeys your instructions, reward and praise him with treats. You can also cuddle with him. This way, he will learn to repeat good behaviors.
- If your puppy shows offensive behavior, do not slap, hit, or kick him. Instead, you should speak to him in a stern voice. And you should never abuse him physically.
- Choose a peeing and defecating spot for your puppy and always take him to the same place. If you follow this, your puppy will understand the place and time to defecate and will quickly pick up such accepted behaviors.
- If your puppy is too young to go for peeing or defecating by himself then you should take him outside at regular intervals.
- Be consistent with the meal times of your puppy.
